How does the adjustment work?
A subluxation is stored stress/energy in the body. Energy
which is stored is called potential energy. Therefore, there
are subluxations/potential energy within all of us, ready
to be released. Releasing subluxation is like pushing a boulder
down a mountain. The boulder in figure A represents stored
energy/a subluxation and notice how the boulder is sitting
right on the edge of the hill, all it would take is a slight
touch and the ball would begin rolling downhill. The boulder
in figure B is sitting back on a flat part and it will take
much more energy to get it moving. This is the concept behind
the adjustments given at the Café of Life. Different
levels of force are used because forces are stored in different
tissues of the body. If energy is stored in soft connective
tissue (ligaments, tendons, etc.) a light touch is usually
used because of the density of soft connective tissue. Whereas,
energy stored in osseous tissue (vertebra) usually requires
a heavier force just as in figure B.
