Inspiration Soup
My friend, Dr.
Eric Tan, has opened a beautiful “Café of Life” style chiropractic practice
downtown. Eric graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Iowa. Since
March 1999, Eric has studied with Dr. Sue Brown, the creator of the
Bio-Geometric Integration (B.G.I.) Chiropractic model. Now, Eric has
brought his vision and chiropractic expertise to Intuitive Soul. Intuitive
Soul is a living work of art and a symbol of commitment to contribute toward
the creation of a healthier planet.
I am thrilled
Eric has opened his practice downtown, giving more people an opportunity to
experience honoring chiropractic adjustments with a vitalistic approach to
healing, health and life. Eric adjusts using the same approach and ideology
as myself and I’m looking forward to seeing his practice becoming a beacon of
Life and Health downtown. Tell your friends, collegues or anyone you care
about, to check Eric out.

Thoughts on a Half-Shell
There are
moments when I am speaking to someone and I think, "Man, I should write that
down or share that with other people!" Well, I remembered this one.
There are
times in our lives when the "crap" is piling up. Things we have to do,
situations needing to be resolved, tasks needed to be started or completed.
When this occurs, stop and remember how amazing you are and your life is.
Don't think small, mundane thoughts - think of the grand scale of your life.
Be great-full and give thanks for all the blessings in your life. The
boulders of trouble are mere pebbles when you pull them away from your eyes
and envision the beauty and perfection of the universe.

People diagnosed with cancer are often prescribed drugs they
know little about, and researching the risks and benefits can be daunting, if
not impossible, in the time frame a cancer patient has to work with. It's too
late for one set of parents whose son died of brain cancer in 1999, but they
hope to help other families with a website (above) they launched on Jan. 1.

Empowerment
(Submitted by Lou Corletto, Chiropractor)
According to Webster’s - Power comes from the
French poeir: to be able, Latin potere: to be powerful - syn: power, faculty,
function: ability of a living being to perform in a given way or capacity for
a particular kind of performance.
Candace Pert, Ph.D., Research professor in
Department of Physiology and Biophysics at Georgetown University Medical
Center in Washington, DC in her latest book
"Molecules of Emotion" shares this thought: "And now that I know my
body has wisdom, this calls for a new kind of responsibility on my part. I can
no longer act like a dumb machine and wait to be fixed by the mechanic --
otherwise known as the doctor. Now I have the potential to consciously
intervene in the system myself, to take an active role in my own healing. I'm
both powerful and more responsible in creating the health I experience than
the dumb machine I used to think I was."
Christopher Columbus created an enormous
paradigm shift when he rose above the level of thinking that existed at the
time and showed that the world was NOT flat. ChiropracTIC also changed the
level of thinking over 103 years ago when the Palmers
gave the world the concept of "the Bigness of the
fellow within," Innate Intelligence and, that healing comes from within (ADIO).
Brian Luke Seaward, Ph.D. -- "I believe subtle
energy is a kind of universal life force that flows through us from the
divine. According to Eastern wisdom, everyone has an aura, a field of this
energy surrounding the physical body, and flowing through it as well,
traveling along lines called meridians by the Chinese or radiating out from
the seven body centers called chakras by the practitioners of yoga. Westerners
even have a version of it in Christianity, as the halo surrounding the crown
of the head, often depicted on saints and angels in medieval art. But you
don't have to be a saint, an angel, or a yogi to acknowledge this subtle
energy. It's in everyone and can be a force for healing."
Most people, including some Chiropractors, are unaware that
Stephenson’s Chiropractic Text Book written in
1927 with its 33 principles (see above) and our Major Premise "Universal
Intelligence is in all matter…" predates Einstein’s
Quantum Mechanics (1932). Article 312 p. 238 The Triunity of Life: Life
is a Triunity having three necessary united factors;
intelligence, force and matter. Without intelligence, matter could not even
exist. Without matter, intelligence could not be expressed. Then there is a
bond between intelligence and matter that cannot be dispensed with. These
three factors: intelligence, matter, and the bond between them, are
inseparable. The bond is called force. As Chiropractors we supply the
universal force to the Innate Intelligence of the person we are serving so
they can unite their intelligence with their matter. This creates the
potential for Life to be expressed fully.
Again from Dr. Pert: "Where does the
intelligence, the information that runs our bodymind, come from? We know that
information has an infinite capability to expand and increase, and that it is
beyond time and place, matter and energy. Therefore, it cannot belong to the
material world we apprehend with our senses, but must belong to its own realm,
one that we can experience as emotion, the mind, the spirit -- an inforealm!
This is the term I prefer because it has a scientific ring to it, but others
mean the same thing when they say field of intelligence, innate intelligence,
the wisdom of the body. Still others call it God."
Are we keeping people dis-empowered by "taking" the responsibility for their
health and ultimately their healing when we tell them "we will fix you". Or,
are we empowering them with knowledge that their health is their
responsibility, that healing comes from "above down inside out," and that we
will assist in the process through the correction of the subluxation? Will we
continue to be a guiding force for the people we serve or will we allow them
to surpass us? The choice is ours to make.
News & Views
The
saddest part of this story is that the real numbers are unknown.
Lawsuits put focus on Ibuprofen for children. Nine-year-old Kaitlyn
Langstaff of Saratoga, Calif., died 20 months after taking Children's Motrin.
Seven-year-old Sabrina Brierton Johnson of Los Angeles went blind two months
after taking the same drug. Three-year-old Heather Rose Kiss of New Jersey
died a week after taking a few doses of Children's Advil. All three girls
developed a rare, excruciatingly painful disease after an apparent allergic
reaction to ibuprofen. And the parents of all three said they never dreamed an
over-the-counter pain reliever could kill or disable their children.... Read
